Welcome to the Meditation Soundscape Download Centre for recordings by Jayson Stilwell. Jayson records meditations and soundscapes using styles and techniques of what he calls 'Mongrel Overtone Singing'. Jayson has spent time with the throat singers and shamen of Tuva learning about the lineage of throat singing and over time this has lead to the coining of the term 'Mongrel Overtone Singing'. This phrase came about because Jayson is a westerner and is steeped in the musical traditions of his own culture, but during his 20 year journey with overtoning he has found examples of it in the cultures of native America, aboriginal Australia and the folk traditions of Europe and Africa and, as such considers his own work to be a hybrid of all these influences. Hence, 'Mongrel Overtone Singing' was born...
